Permanent | £60,000 – £75,000

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join a leading multidisciplinary engineering and infrastructure organisation delivering complex projects across the water, energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear, and food & beverage sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in major infrastructure programmes, supporting the successful planning and delivery of high-value engineering projects.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 and MS Project, translating complex project requirements into clear, structured delivery plans. Working closely with engineering, delivery, and commercial teams, you will assess resource needs, forecast timelines, monitor progress, and proactively identify and mitigate delays. You will liaise with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment across project teams and provide accurate, timely reporting to support decision-making.

Your responsibilities will also include analysing critical paths, updating schedules, and producing reporting outputs such as S-curves, progress dashboards, and productivity analysis to ensure projects remain on track.

What You’ll Bring
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in construction planning and scheduling
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar planning tools
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, drawings, and project documentation
  • Experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource planning
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to risk management and problem solving
  • Familiarity with BIM and large-scale infrastructure environments
  • Understanding of safety regulations and quality standards
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly in line with project requirements
