We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor with a demonstratable background delivering major projects within the construction industry. In this role, you will support the nuclear decommissioning space and ensure safe storage of radioactive waste.
Responsibilities- Operate NEC and other forms of contract and ensure compliance with contract processes and timelines
- Liaise with design and planning teams to embed commercial considerations in early design decisions
- Manage contractor and supplier engagement alongside the client and key stakeholders
- Support or lead a small commercial team, setting clear goals and overseeing performance
- Ensure clear communication and alignment across stakeholders regarding budgets, risks, and contractual obligations
- Provide cost planning, budget monitoring, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and cash‑flow analysis for client reporting
- Relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, in the nuclear, civil engineering or engineering (including service contracting) sectors
- Advanced experience of standard forms of contract, including the NEC suite
- Ideally HNC, HND or degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Law, or a similar relevant discipline; alternative backgrounds (e.g. engineering) may be considered if the candidate has significant on‑the‑job experience
- Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or other relevant Chartered Institute are desirable and will be supported if not already attained
