Working closely with in-house design, commercial, and operational teams, you will be involved from early enquiry through to tender submission, ensuring all estimates are technically robust and commercially viable. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for piling and ground engineering works Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications Collaborate with the in-house design team to develop practical and cost-effective solutions Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations where required Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within tenders Support bid submissions and contribute to overall tender strategy Work closely with the commercial team to ensure alignment from tender through to project delivery About the Team & Business Strong technical capability already in place-this role is to strengthen and expand the estimating function Collaborative, close-knit team environment where everyone is visible and contributes The culture is open and supportive, with a mix of personalities across the team.
There is a strong emphasis on communication, collaboration, and getting the job done. You'll have plenty of support, but you'll also be expected to take ownership of your work and contribute actively. Candidate Profile Background in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or similar Demonstrable experience in estimating within piling or ground engineering (essential) Strong technical understanding of ground engineering methods and solutions Confident in interpreting drawings, specifications, and ground investigation data Proactive and self-sufficient, with the ability to manage workload effectively Comfortable working in a team where communication is key-willing to ask questions and engage with colleagues A practical, 'can-do' approach with the ability to get stuck in and deliver Why Apply?
