The Medical Engineering Department provides a comprehensive medical equipment management service, including installation, maintenance, testing, and disposal.
Responsibilities- Perform acceptance testing and electrical safety testing of medical equipment.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of medical equipment.
- Conduct fault diagnosis and ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
- Travel between sites to carry out maintenance and support services.
- Plan and prioritise workloads, respond to equipment failures and ensure compliance with statutory regulations, Department of Health guidance and manufacturer recommendations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and safety records.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.
- Manage spare parts and equipment assets.
- Provide technical advice to clinical staff.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives, training activities, and the delivery of a high‑quality, patient‑focused Medical Engineering service.
