Senior Medical Engineer

The Medical Engineering Department provides a comprehensive medical equipment management service, including installation, maintenance, testing, and disposal.

• Perform acceptance testing and electrical safety testing of medical equipment.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of medical equipment.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and fit for purpose.
• Travel between sites to carry out maintenance and support services.
• Plan and prioritise workloads, respond to equipment failures and ensure compliance with statutory regulations, Department of Health guidance and manufacturer recommendations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and safety records.
• Support the evaluation and implementation of new technologies.
• Manage spare parts and equipment assets.
• Provide technical advice to clinical staff.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives, training activities, and the delivery of a high‑quality, patient‑focused Medical Engineering service.
