We are looking for a talented and commercially astute Estimator to join our growing West Region team, based in Warrington. You’ll work at the forefront of project delivery, developing winning bids and shaping the future pipeline of complex civil engineering projects across sectors including rail, highways, environment, power, and aviation.

Our Warrington office is a key hub for delivering strategic infrastructure projects across the North West and Central regions. You’ll work as part of a collaborative, high-performing team, partnering closely with planners, bid managers, and operational leads to deliver innovative, competitive, and high-quality tender submissions. The RoleAs an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, development, and delivery of competitive and commercially sound tenders.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission
- Develop robust, competitive and cost-effective pricing strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams to define bid-winning approaches and methodologies
- Prepare detailed estimates using first principles
- Carry out take-offs from drawings and technical documentation
- Assess and manage risk and opportunity pricing within tenders
- Engage with the supply chain to obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Work closely with Planners and delivery teams to ensure realistic resourcing and programme alignment
- Present tender proposals to senior management for review and approval
- Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the estimating function
- Mentor and support junior team members where appropriate
You are a driven and detail-oriented estimator with a strong background in civil engineering and a passion for delivering high-quality work.
Essential- Proven experience as an Estimator within civil engineering / infrastructure
- Strong experience in multi-disciplinary projects and/or frameworks
- Solid understanding of first principles estimating
- Ability to analyse technical information and translate it into accurate cost plans
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience across sectors such as rail, highways, environment, or utilities
- Previous site or operational experience
- Familiarity with estimating software (e.g. Causeway)
