Principal EC&I Engineer

Scope

The candidate will be responsible to lead the CE&I electrical systems design for projects in the FEED pipeline. The role will involve the production and checking of engineering deliverables to support design development through concept and preliminary phases, and potentially into detail design, and assistance during installation and commissioning borne design queries. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to all aspects of CE&I engineering.

The role requires knowledge and experience in project delivery with experience of optioneering, front‑end design and detail design.

• Lead and take responsibility for the delivery of the design aspects of the project.
• Working with a small integrated design team in the delivery of design packages against milestones.
• Contribute to the production of multi‑discipline design documentation such as, but not limited to:
  Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, Project Verification Plans, Quality Plans, Design Justification Report.
• Determine project requirements independently.
• Production, review, and checking of design documents and CE&I deliverables from other CE&I engineers/designers.
• Ability to estimate hours for scope changes or additional works along with outlining supporting schedules for the discipline.
• Support and contribute to the delivery of Design Reviews.
• Produce reports and documentation to comply with CDM.
• Interface with the Integrated Design Team, facility team (including systems engineering), and other project functions, working closely throughout project phases.

• Experience delivering CE&I design packages – translating user requirements and technical specifications into fully engineered, safe, and legal design solutions.
• Experience in space management, panel layouts, cable routing, cable management, and cable calculations.
• Ability to work as part of an integrated delivery team and individually, within sometimes restrictive time constraints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
• Process Instrumentation Design.
• Electrical Power and Services Design at LV.
• Knowledge of CE&I Safety Systems.
• Programmable Electronic Systems.
• Radiometric Instrumentation.
• Understanding and application of the required deliverables and design processes for each CE&I area, particularly in front‑end scoping and early delivery strategy.
• Estimate and schedule production and progress reporting.
• Collaborative teamwork skills are essential.
