Overview
As a Nuclear Safety Senior Consultant at Orano Limited, you will deliver and help lead nuclear safety documents across the full lifecycle of nuclear operations for a variety of clients.
LocationWarrington or Abingdon (hybrid).
Responsibilities- Deliver consultancy that meets and exceeds client expectations in technical excellence and the quality of deliverables.
- Deliver consultancy that meets and exceeds client expectations in terms of timescales and cost, supporting the long‑term growth of the business and its reputation.
- Provide nuclear safety advice and guidance in multidisciplinary projects interfacing with engineers, human‑factor specialists and other disciplines.
- Develop and present robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent manner.
- Provide technical checking and/or verification for technical/compliance/thoroughness of argument/QA standards.
- Liaise with all concerned on technical progress.
- Take documents through the earlier stages of client governance.
- Support stakeholder management internally and for clients.
- Work with the Business Development Team to identify opportunities with clients to develop the business.
- Minimum of 5 years professional engineering/technical specialist experience.
- Have a degree or equivalent in engineering, science or related field of study.
- Understanding of the safety case production process and methodologies for more than one client.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and experience in the management and production of complex safety cases, for a number of plant types at different lifecycle stages, as part of a team, demonstrating the capability to work unsupervised within a team.
- Familiarity with areas such as decommissioning, optioneering, best practice, human factors, radioactive materials transport, licensing, radioactive waste.
The successful candidate must, by the start of employment, have permission to work in the UK and be willing to undergo a security vetting process. Offers of employment will be subject to relevant security clearance being granted. Close working relationships with other Orano sites and client sites may be required, which may necessitate regular travel to those sites (dependent upon project & client requirements).
