Job Description
AECOM's Systems Engineering team in Warrington provides multi-disciplinary consultancy to the nuclear industry, Ministry of Defence (MoD) and other security‑classified clients.
As a Senior Systems Engineer you will support various systems engineering activities throughout the entire life cycle of nuclear projects, including new build, decommissioning, and overseas joint ventures.
Responsibilities- Support the Systems Engineering Discipline Lead in Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Interface Management and IVVQ.
- Interface with client technical and non‑technical teams, remotely and on site.
- Author and review technical documentation and processes.
- Apply Systems Engineering best practices and approaches to grow the capability within the engineering team.
- Manage end‑to‑end lifecycle traceability and reporting to achieve certification and delivery.
- Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver complete and unified designs.
- Dynamic team tackling challenging and impactful nuclear projects.

- In‑depth experience and full understanding of Systems Engineering, the V‑model and associated life cycles.
- Degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent engineering experience.
- Chartered Engineer or on the path to Chartered status with an appropriate institute.
- SC clearance or ability to obtain SC clearance.
- Experience in highly regulated industries such as Defence, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, or Nuclear.
- Experience writing and formally reviewing high‑quality technical documentation.
- Experience decomposing, authoring, and managing System‑Level Requirements.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering practices, methodologies, processes, and technology trends (SEBoK, INCOSE, NASA SE, DOORS).
- Team management and leadership.
- HAZOP knowledge.
- Nuclear site operations.
- Nuclear new build.
- Nuclear safety cases.
