Job DescriptionPrincipal Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Engineer – Lead EC&I engineering teams on complex projects in nuclear, defence, new build and infrastructure sectors.
About the RoleAssystem Energy & Infrastructure Ltd is growing, and we’re seeking a dynamic Principal EC&I Engineer to lead our most exciting projects across Nuclear, Defence, New Build, and Infrastructure. You’ll provide top‑notch technical leadership, working with high‑profile clients such as Sellafield, Rolls‑Royce, EDF, BAE, F4E, and Hinkley Point.
Responsibilities- Lead EC&I engineering teams in delivering innovative solutions for complex projects.
- Shape project plans, prioritizing health & safety and environmental standards.
- Act as lead engineer, overseeing design reviews, technical discussions, and formal evaluations.
- Provide expert advice, supporting staff and clients through technical challenges.
- Mentor team members, set objectives, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Ensure projects stay on budget and aligned with schedules, working closely with project managers.
- Serve as the primary technical contact, coordinating with clients throughout each project.
- 10+ years in EC&I design and management, with expertise in at least two areas (e.g., Control Systems, Radio metrics, Functional Safety).
- Familiarity with highly regulated industries, control systems, design phases, configuration management, and life‑cycle stages.
- Proven leadership abilities, managing project complexities and driving continuous improvement.
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Instrumentation or Control Engineering; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Experience with laboratory facilities and nuclear systems.
- Expertise in HV/LV electrical systems and modular building projects.
- Involvement in Sellafield projects or similar environments.
A minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats is required. Only UK nationals or dual nationals from a non‑ITAR country are eligible due to the nature of the work and the protection of certain assets.
