Senior Structural Engineers are responsible for the day‑to‑day development of the design through the design process. The role is hands‑on analysis and design within the Civil & Structural department and generally includes interfacing with other engineering disciplines. The Senior Structural Engineer also shares managerial responsibility for graduates, apprentices, and/or designers in the team as required.

Applicants should demonstrate delivery beyond a Design Engineer.

• Preparation of design documentation throughout the design process
• Development of designs to satisfy technical specifications
• Prepare supporting design calculations
• Preparation of technical specifications
• Preparation of risk assessments, technical files and other documentation required by safety legislation and procedures
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
• Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
• Knowledge and understanding of structural steel connections and connection types
• Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• A strong team player
• Nuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays as required
• Experience of supervision

• A recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree
