** Role description:
** We currently have an opportunity for an
** Assistant Civil Engineer – Rail to join our Rail North West & Central Business
** Unit. In this role, you will support the delivery of civil engineering design activities for rail infrastructure projects, working as part of multidisciplinary project teams and developing your technical capability within a supportive engineering environment.

You will contribute to the preparation of engineering deliverables, including calculations, drawings, reports and technical documentation, while supporting the development and implementation of practical engineering solutions.
** Role accountabilities:
**** In this role, you will:
*** Support the delivery of civil engineering design activities for rail infrastructure projects.
* Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other technical documentation.
* Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians and multidisciplinary project teams.
* Support investigations, technical analysis and the resolution of engineering challenges.
* Contribute to the integration of civil engineering design within wider project solutions.
* Deliver assigned tasks in line with project requirements, quality standards, budgets and timescales.
* Undertake checking of work in progress to ensure accuracy and alignment with design intent.
* Build knowledge of Arcadis systems, engineering standards and relevant codes of practice.
* Continue professional development through training, mentoring and project experience.
** Qualifications &

Experience:

*** BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng, or equivalent, in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Previous relevant civil engineering experience would be advantageous.
* Ability to prepare technical calculations, drawings and documentation.
* Interest in rail infrastructure and multidisciplinary engineering design.
* Good analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
* Experience with relevant engineering or design software would be beneficial.
* Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional accreditation, would be desirable.
