Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer looking to play a key role on a high-profile nuclear project?
We're seeking a talented engineer to join the Plant Facing Design Office (PFDO) team, supporting the development of specialist tooling and equipment used for early retrieval operations within a complex, highly regulated environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to challenging engineering work while collaborating with industry-leading professionals.
Working within the PFDO team, you'll support the development of tools and equipment for retrieval operations, while providing technical support to the Principal Engineer.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Producing mechanical design packages for manufacture and installation
- Developing engineering drawings, method statements and risk assessments
- Producing technical documentation, including NFRs and OIMs
- Ensuring designs comply with engineering standards and site procedures
- Supporting innovative engineering solutions within a nuclear environment
You'll ideally have:
- Significant experience producing mechanical design packages
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and installation documentation
- Experience preparing drawings, method statements and risk assessments
- Familiarity with engineering standards, procedures and best practice
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related scientific discipline
- Experience working within nuclear decommissioning, legacy facilities or contaminated environments
- Previous experience supporting complex engineering projects in highly regulated industries
Candidates can start with BPSS and P1/P4 clearance, with the ability to obtain SC Clearance as required.
