Senior Civil Structural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of civil and structural design packages for rail infrastructure projects.
• Prepare, review, and verify calculations, drawings, reports and technical deliverables.
• Develop civil and structural engineering solutions for assets such as bridges, foundations, retaining structures, stations, and related rail infrastructure.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective design integration.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
• Support design reviews, technical assurance activities and the resolution of engineering issues.
• Identify and manage design risks in line with project requirements and relevant standards.
• Liaise with project managers, clients and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
• Ensure deliverables comply with Arcadis requirements, national standards and codes of practice.

• BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng, or equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Relevant civil/structural design experience, preferably within a rail or major infrastructure environment.
• Experience preparing and checking engineering calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Knowledge of structural design principles, relevant codes, standards and risk management.
• Experience using structural analysis and design software would be advantageous.
• Ability to provide technical guidance to project team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a professional institution desirable.
