Project Manager - Environmental & Water

An award‑winning, employee‑owned Environmental and Engineering Consultancy is looking to appoint an Environmental Engineering Project Manager to join its growing multidisciplinary team in Warrington.

This is an outstanding opportunity to take ownership of technically challenging projects that make a genuine difference to communities and the environment. Working across flood risk management, river restoration, natural flood management, environmental improvements and climate resilience schemes, you will lead projects from concept through to delivery whilst collaborating with experts across engineering, ecology, hydrology, geomorphology and environmental disciplines.

The role sits within a business recognised for its technical excellence, innovation and long‑term commitment to sustainability, with employee ownership ensuring decisions are made with people, quality and future growth at the forefront.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied portfolio of environmental engineering projects, overseeing programmes, budgets and resources while ensuring technical excellence and successful delivery.
  • Lead projects from initial feasibility and appraisal through detailed design, construction support, and project completion.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with public sector organisations, water companies, environmental bodies and infrastructure clients.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute towards the continued growth of the business.
Qualifications
  • Experience managing engineering or environmental projects within a consultancy, contractor or client‑side environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Background in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water, flood risk, river engineering or a related infrastructure sector.
  • Previous experience leading multidisciplinary teams, managing project finances and delivering successful outcomes for clients.
