For our team in Birchwood Park, Warrington, we are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to continue the development of tools to support early retrievals/operations of the MSSS SEP machines.

This role requires an innovative individual with experience within this field. It will involve managing a small team of designers/engineers to understand the requirements, further specify them, and to continue the development of bespoke tools through concepts, trials, and manufacture into fully deployable solutions. The Principal Engineer will act as the single point of contact from initial request through to handover of a fully functional tool to the MSSS plant operation teams.

To successfully carry out this role, it will be necessary to integrate and manage other groups such as the SL Innovation teams, the site-wide manufacturing capability, and other contractors.

• Understand the roles and specifications of CDM.
• Experience producing design packages suitable for manufacture and installation, containing drawings, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Familiarity and experience of working and complying with applicable SL practices, standards, and engineering guides.
• HNC/HND/Scientific or Engineering Degree.
