Location: Hinton House, hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
Arrangement: Permanent or Contract (Inside IR35)

Role Description

The candidate will lead the CE&I electrical systems design for projects in the FEED pipeline. Responsibilities include producing and checking engineering deliverables for concept and preliminary phases, supporting design development into detail, and assisting during installation and commissioning with design queries. The role requires knowledge and experience in project delivery, including optioneering, front‑end design and detail design.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and take responsibility for the delivery of design aspects of projects.
  • Collaborate with a small integrated design team to deliver design packages against milestones.
  • Contribute to the production of multidisciplinary design documentation such as Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, Project Verification Plans, Quality Plans, and Design Justification Reports.
  • Determine project requirements independently.
  • Produce, review, and check design documents and CE&I deliverables from other engineers/designers.
  • Estimate hours for scope changes or additional works and outline supporting schedules.
  • Support and contribute to Design Reviews.
  • Produce reports and documentation to comply with CDM.
  • Interface with the Integrated Design Team, facility team, and other project functions throughout all project phases.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Significant demonstrable experience in CE&I Project Delivery.
  • Experience delivering CE&I design packages, translating user requirements and technical specifications into safe, legal design solutions.
  • Experience in space management, panel layouts, cable routing, cable management, and cable calculations.
  • Ability to work within integrated delivery teams and under restrictive time constraints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Process Instrumentation Design experience.
  • Electrical Power and Services Design at LV.
  • Knowledge of CE&I Safety Systems and Programmable Electronic Systems.
  • Radiometric Instrumentation experience.
  • Understanding and application of required deliverables and design processes for each CE&I area, particularly in front‑end scoping and early delivery strategy.
  • Delivery within the SL Management System.
  • Estimation and scheduling of production and progress reporting.
  • Collaborative teamwork essential.
Essential Qualifications
  • Minimum: ONC.
  • Preferred:
    Engineering degree (Beng/ MEng).
Desirable Experience
  • Management of design delivery teams.
  • Machinery Safety and UKCA Marking.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Professional Registration: IEng or CEng.
