Location: Warrington (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Excellent Benefits + Overtime
We're supporting one of the UK's leading multidisciplinary engineering contractors in the search for a Controls Systems Integration Engineer to join their growing automation team. Working across highly regulated industries including nuclear, energy, water, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing
, you'll play a key role in delivering complex control system solutions from software development through to commissioning. As a Controls Systems Integration Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and commissioning industrial control systems for a variety of major infrastructure projects. Working alongside Lead Engineers and Project Managers, you'll take ownership of software development, testing and commissioning activities while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop PLC, HMI and SCADA software for industrial automation projects.
- Configure and integrate control systems using industry-leading platforms.
- Produce and review technical documentation and functional design specifications.
- Carry out bench testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
- Commission control systems on client sites across the UK.
- Support clients during installation and system handover.
- Work closely with electrical, instrumentation and project engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards and health & safety requirements.
You'll ideally have experience delivering industrial automation or control system projects and be comfortable working across the full project lifecycle. You'll have:
- Experience programming PLC and HMI systems.
- Experience with at least two of the following platforms:
- Siemens
- Rockwell / Allen Bradley
- Schneider
- Mitsubishi
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols including Ether Net/IP, Profinet, Profibus and Modbus TCP/IP.
- Experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to safe working practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with in nuclear, energy, water or other highly regulated industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
