Job Description & How to Apply Below

Ready to swap the tools for the tape measure and the takeoff sheet?

We're a growing commercial and industrial electrical contractor working on office buildings, retail units, manufacturing plants, distribution centres, and process facilities- and we're looking for a Junior Electrical Estimator to join our preconstruction team.

This Role Is Built for Electricians and Engineers

You don't need a background in estimating. You need a background in the electrical industry.

If you're a time-served electrician, or you've come up through electrical design or engineering, you already have the hardest part of this job nailed: you understand how switchboards, distribution boards, containment, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems actually go together on site. That's exactly what makes a good estimator - someone who can look at a drawing and picture the install, not just count symbols.

This is a genuine career path off the tools and into the office, without starting from zero. We'll teach you the estimating process, the software, and the commercial side. You bring the practical knowledge that can't be taught from a desk.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carrying out quantity takeoffs across lighting, power distribution, containment, life-safety, low-voltage, and earthing systems
  • Helping build labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
  • Supporting proposals for LV switchboards, motor control centres, and electrical control panels (Full training available for this)
  • Reviewing drawings and specs to spot scope gaps and risk before they become problems on site
  • Getting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and checking they actually match the scope
  • Sitting in on pre-bid meetings and site walks alongside senior estimators and project managers
What You'll Bring
  • A time-served electrical background, or experience in electrical design/engineering
  • Solid understanding of commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Confidence reading engineered drawings and specifications
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Excel
  • Sharp numerical and analytical skills, with a strong eye for detail
  • Good communication — you'll be working closely with estimators, PMs, and suppliers
Where This Can Take You

This is a genuine entry point into a long-term career in preconstruction. High performers progress to Electrical Estimator, Senior Estimator, Lead Estimator, and ultimately Estimating Manager.

If you know your way around a distribution board and you're ready to trade the van for a desk (with the odd site visit thrown in), we want to hear from you
