We are looking for an experienced FEED Area Engineering Manager to support major nuclear engineering programmes during the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) phase. Based in Warrington with hybrid working, this role is ideal for someone who excels in technical leadership and enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and innovative engineering solutions.
SalaryRate dependent on experience (contract role, initial 12 months).
Location and Working PatternWarrington office with hybrid working and site attendance at Sellafield as required.

Responsibilities- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through FEED activities across multiple projects.
- Define and mature engineering scope, delivering strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Develop technically robust and legally compliant engineering solutions that are fit for purpose.
- Drive requirements definition, option development, and engineering substantiation.
- Oversee stakeholder engagement across disciplines, operations, safety and construction.
- Facilitate optioneering and Value Management to identify optimal engineering approaches.
- Ensure solutions are ready for transition into detailed design and delivery stages.
- Manage engineering scope, ensuring alignment with programme milestones and budgets.
- Significant engineering leadership experience in a highly regulated industry.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary FEED or early-phase project teams.
- Expertise in requirements development, engineering governance and design assurance.
- Strong capability in optioneering, risk management and technical scoping.
- Confident stakeholder manager, influencing senior technical and project leaders.
- Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) and Chartered Engineer status (or working towards).
- Membership of a recognised professional institution.
- Sellafield or nuclear industry experience.
- Background in Systems Engineering or Requirements Management.
- Familiarity with Value Management, Technology Readiness Level assessments.
- Safety Case development, CDM Principal Designer knowledge.
- NEC contract awareness and experience with Gate 0-2 phases.
- INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, Requirements Management certification or Value Management qualification.
