As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll support the delivery of mechanical engineering design across a wide range of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working closely with senior engineers, Project Managers and other technical disciplines, you'll contribute to the development of safe, efficient and sustainable engineering solutions. You will:
- Support mechanical design activities from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support.
- Produce mechanical calculations, technical specifications, schedules, reports and engineering documentation.
- Assist with the design of pumping stations, water and wastewater treatment works, pipelines and associated mechanical infrastructure.
- Undertake site visits, surveys and technical investigations where required.
- Collaborate with electrical, process, civil and structural engineers to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Work closely with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders to help deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.
- Contribute to nationally significant AMP8 projects across the North West.
- Develop practical engineering solutions that improve operational performance and sustainability.
- Build your technical capability while working alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams.

Your work will support reliable drinking water supplies, improve wastewater treatment and help create resilient assets that protect the environment and respond to future challenges.
Essential- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards.
- Experience with in mechanical engineering design, ideally within the water sector or another regulated infrastructure industry.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering design principles and industry standards.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with in the water, utilities, energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of pumping systems, treatment processes or mechanical plant design.
- Experience producing technical specifications, reports and engineering documentation.
- Experience using digital engineering tools and modern methods of project delivery.
