Our Client has a requirement for a Lead Civil Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Warrington.
Role PurposeWe are seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership and delivery management on a major infrastructure project within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will lead the civil engineering team through the design phases, ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality engineering solutions are delivered in line with project requirements and programme milestones.
Job Role Responsibilities- Work with the Responsible Engineer and Area Engineering Manager to plan and deliver the civil design scope throughout design and construction phases.
- Monitor progress against programme requirements, managing risks and escalating issues where necessary.
- Lead and coordinate a team of Civil Engineers and Designers.
- Act as the Civil discipline lead at multidisciplinary meetings and stakeholder reviews.
- Manage and oversee work delivered by external engineering consultancies.
- Provide technical leadership, direction, assurance and acceptance of civil engineering deliverables.
- Lead the development of civil engineering designs, including 3D modelling and production of 2D AutoCAD drawings.
- Ensure designs are safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
- Fulfil Designer responsibilities in accordance with CDM Regulations.
- Support the mentoring and development of junior team members.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Degree qualified in Civil or Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status desirable.
- Experience leading civil engineering teams on major infrastructure, industrial, nuclear, defence, energy or similarly regulated projects.
- Strong knowledge of highways, drainage, underground services, earthworks, hard standing and external works design.
- Proficient in Civil 3D, Info Drainage and AutoCAD.
- Experience planning and managing engineering delivery against project schedules.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- BPSS clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
