About the role
An established organisation is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to manage receivables, support cash flow performance, and ensure the timely collection of outstanding invoices. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams and direct engagement with clients, contributing to strong financial control and long-term collection strategies. You will also support continuous improvement of credit control processes while maintaining high professional standards.
Key responsibilities
Maintain effective credit control systems and procedures in line with financial policy.
Monitor debtor balances and reduce overdue debt.
Manage payment collection and customer accounts.
Complete daily cash allocation using internal systems.
Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Monitor credit limits and minimise financial risk.
Report outstanding issues and potential risks to management.
Work with internal teams to resolve account queries.
Ensure debts are collected within agreed time frames.
Support resolution of complex disputes and escalate where required.
Lead corrective actions when performance falls below agreed standards.
Contribute to achieving zero unallocated cash and prepare bad debt write-off proposals.
Maintain and improve standard operating procedures for credit control.
Liaise with third-party debt recovery agents when necessary.
Requirements:
At least three years of proven experience as a Credit Controller.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Experience with enterprise finance systems and reporting tools is desirable.
