Group Financial Controller

Medlock Partners are delighted to be partnering with a successful, large global business based in the Cheshire area as they look to appoint a technically competent, audit trained finance professional in a Group Finance Manager/Controller remit.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director and managing a small financial reporting team, the Group Financial Controller will be responsible for the following;

• Monthly Financial Reporting including result analysis and observations/recommendations to the Board/Group Management for actions to be taken.
• Monthly Capex reporting for the group
• Review/preparation of Consolidated Group financial statements (FRS
  102)
• Review/preparation of several subsidiary accounts
• Production of technical accounting papers to support significant/unusual transactions, issues, etc – for both internal and external use
• Ownership of group accounting manual and internal group accounting policies
• Process owner and first point of contact for all matters regarding the Group Investment Proposal Model which is used/to be used for larger investments
• Provide support where necessary to the business units in preparing investment proposals
• Post Mortem analysis of executed investment projects
• Dealing with external lenders including regular performance updates/presentations
• Regular review of cash forecast produced by Treasury
• Preparation of all group models to support various financing initiatives
• Preparation of Board papers including regular Group Finance Updates and other ad hoc papers as required
• Review/preparation & issue of weekly forecast and month end flash reporting
• Review /production of weekly variance analysis of forecast results vs prior and budget
• Control group budget process facilitating group review and issue
• Oversee group audit in all regions incl. attendance at clearance meetings.
• Point of contact with external group audit team – issues resolution, fee negotiations, etc
• Close liaise with overseas FD’s/controllers on regular basis – point of contact for technical queries, etc and regular catch up calls/visits
• Ad hoc financial analysis/projects as required

This role would ideally suit a practice/audit trained finance professional looking for a position that delivers high impact and full visibility at a senior level. The candidate must be technically competent with an ability to communicate technical matters and their implications effectively with various stakeholders across the business.

Candidates currently operating at Finance Manager/Financial Reporting Manager level looking for the opportunity to step into a more senior remit will also be considered.
