Working closely with senior finance leaders, treasury colleagues and operational stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust financial controls, delivering accurate financial information, and supporting continuous improvement across the finance function. Financial Services Lead
- Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the Financial Services team, providing day-to-day management, coaching and development of finance staff Oversee income management, cash collection, credit control, rent accounting and creditor payment processes Manage daily and medium-term cashflow forecasting, working closely with Treasury to support funding requirements and surplus cash investments Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations, control accounts and general ledger processes are maintained accurately and on a timely basis Support the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory returns for group entities Oversee payroll controls and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with pension and statutory obligations Manage the preparation and submission of tax returns, including VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax, SDLT, PSA and P11D requirements Lead the annual rent and service charge increase process, ensuring compliance and timely implementation Produce KPI reporting and Payment Practice Reports, providing insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen processes, controls and service delivery Financial Services Lead
- Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) Strong experience within financial accounting, financial services, treasury, rent accounting or housing finance Demonstrable experience managing and developing finance teams Experience overseeing cashflow management, income collection and financial controls Strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts and regulatory compliance Knowledge of payroll controls and tax compliance requirements Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Previous housing association experience would be advantageous Rewards and Benefits:
