Learning Disability Support Worker – Latchford
Job Role: Learning Disability Support Worker at We Change Lives (WCL) for MG2 Community Support.
Hours per week: 30 hours.
Salary: £12.61 per hour.
Location: Latchford, Warrington.
About MG: MG is a residential home caring for up to six individuals with learning and physical disabilities, including PMLD. It provides a nurturing environment with a spacious garden to support independent living.
What a Day Looks LikeAs a Learning Disability Support Worker, you will deliver person‑centred care, support independence and manage personal care, behavioural support, medication, activities, and engagement. You will be trained to achieve positive outcomes for each resident.

In‑house and accredited courses, qualification cost covered, £150 bonus for Level 2 or above (+£50 for care certificate) - Health & Wellbeing Support: 24/7 GP access

Job SummaryWork under the Service Manager to provide high‑quality, personalised care for the people we support, promoting an environment that meets best practice and legislative standards.
Key Responsibilities- Mentor new colleagues during induction
- Participate in supervision, observation and appraisal processes
- Provide effective communication and accurate written reports
- Follow WCL financial procedures and environmental/sustainability principles
- Maintain a caring environment aligned with best practice, guidance and legislative requirements
- Deliver high‑quality care in line with support plans and policy (personal care, physical and mental support, medication, activities and engagement)
- Seek and share the views and preferences of the people we support
- Promote high satisfaction among people we support, families, colleagues and commissioners
- Support the Service Manager with complaints and concerns following WCL policy
- Maintain positive relationships with families, the community and external partners
- Understand and implement safeguarding procedures
- Complete Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Mental Capacity Act training; recognise and report safeguarding concerns
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety; cooperate with the employer to ensure compliance; avoid misuse of equipment or systems
- Respect confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 and ISO
27001

recognised health or social care qualification.
Desirable
Experience:
experience supporting people with disabilities, older people, dementia or mental health needs; experience working as part of a team.
Essential Qualities: evidence of professional development ambition; willingness and ability to learn; basic numerical data handling;
Microsoft Office proficiency; good verbal and written communication; listening skills; strong interpersonal skills; positive values towards disability, older people, dementia and mental health; understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults; understanding of WCL key statements; ability to provide high‑quality support to people with learning disabilities, dementia and mental health needs; ability to develop and maintain positive relationships.
Desirable Technical
Skills:
ability to use WCL transport or own transport when required.
