The Microbiology laboratory is well equipped with a Biomerieux MS and VITEKS for automated identification and sensitivity testing, and a VIDAS immunoassay system.

Two VIRTUO's are in place for automated blood culture monitoring and the laboratory has a range of molecular platforms including the Sero Sep Enteric Bio system, Cepheid Genexpert and the Biomerieux TORCH. The post holder will be required to work as part of the Microbiology team and will be expected to rotate through all sections of the department.
