Job Overview
We are looking for compassionate, motivated Waking Night Support Workers to support a wonderful young lady in her 30s who lives independently in her own home. She has a learning disability and autism and thrives with an outgoing, energetic team around her. We are looking for people who can bring enthusiasm, patience, and a reassuring presence, particularly when she experiences behaviours of distress.
Full Positive Behaviour Support training is provided, but previous experience is essential. Every night, you'll help create a safe, calm, and comforting environment for the people we support.
- Carrying out regular “keeping safe checks” to ensure everyone feels secure and comfortable.
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic space so that the environment is welcoming and safe.
- Recording important information using our easy‑to‑use IT systems – from support plans to health and safety logs – so we can provide the best care possible.
- Creating a therapeutic, reassuring atmosphere that promotes wellbeing throughout the night.
- Supporting people to enjoy their late evenings or nights in ways that matter to them.
- Providing personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
- You will be supporting them to live their lives how they choose and to achieve their goals.
- With the lady’s autism, activities have to have a clear middle objective and an end one.
- You’ll be supporting by engaging in intensive interaction such as mirroring their actions and body language (Full Training Provided).
- Providing support with personal care, medication, food shopping, and domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
Waking Night: 10 pm – 7 am (including weekdays and weekends). Rotas are provided at least 4 weeks in advance to support a healthy work‑life balance.
Pay & Benefits£13.78 per hour (Full time – 36 hrs – 4 nights a week). Great Sankey WA5 (6 min drive from Warrington Hospital).
- A competitive pay rate with uptake for overtime you choose to work.
- Flexible shift patterns to suit your needs.
- 30 days paid annual leave (including public holidays – pro rata).
- Opportunities for career progression.
- Supported “Learn to Drive” scheme (up to 30 driving lessons, 1 theory/practical test – all paid for by us).
- Salary advance scheme where you can access up to 50% of the money you’ve earned before payday.
- High Street discounts – retail and entertainment (supermarkets, hospitality, pubs, cinema, etc.).
- Life assurance and company pension.
- Industry‑leading training.
- Enhanced DBS paid for by us.
Applications are reviewed upon receipt and interviews will take place until the positions are filled. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions. We welcome applications from everyone with the right to work in the UK and value diversity in our workforce. As disability‑confident leaders, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
As part of our commitment to making reasonable adjustments we can offer support to complete your application.
