Crisis Recovery Worker - Warrington & Halton

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Crisis Recovery Worker to join our team working in Warrington and Halton (Runcorn and Widnes). In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in crisis, helping to assess their needs, provide emotional guidance, and promote mental health and wellbeing. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment with clients experiencing mental health challenges, contributing to a supportive team.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide essential support to individuals in crisis, including assessment of needs, emotional guidance, and promotion of mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment with clients experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Contribute to a supportive team and work in partnership with local agencies and external networks.
  • Work 18 hours per week, shifts 6pm–midnight. Two nights per week we work in Halton – Tuesday/Wednesday and Thursday Runcorn. All staff must be able to travel between both venues.
  • Salary: £12,460–£13,758 per annum (£25,958.40–£28,662.40 FTE).
About you

You will have experience of working with Mental Health and will be able to inspire and engage people. You will have the ability to identify barriers and understand client needs, while possessing excellent motivational skills. This will include one‑to‑one engagement and facilitating group‑based activities, sign‑posting and engaging people in mainstream provision.

You will have an understanding of working with people with a variety of complex needs including mental health, learning, physical and substance misuse would be an advantage for this post. Your knowledge of working within a community‑based service is essential and will have equipped you with the relevant communication and interpersonal skills required for the role.

It is essential that you hold a Health and Social Care Level 2 or Level 3 and be willing to develop further as the role requires.

Person Specification
  • Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, or equivalent subject, and be willing to complete an appropriate Level 3 qualification within 12 months of employment.
  • Have awareness of/lived experience and experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues.
  • Experience of record keeping.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
