An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our District Nursing Service as an Administrator. This is a key role within a busy and supportive community nursing team, where your administrative skills will directly contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in the community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and motivated individual with previous administrative experience, who is confident in managing a varied workload in a fast‑paced environment. You will play a vital role in supporting clinical teams through effective coordination, data management, and communication, helping to ensure the smooth day‑to‑day running of the service.

The ideal candidate will have strong IT skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. Experience working within healthcare or community services would be advantageous, but most important is a solid background in administration and a commitment to teamwork and service improvement. The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the District Nursing Coordinator and wider clinical team, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and effective day‑to‑day running of the District Nursing Service. The role requires a high level of administrative competence, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

The administrator will act as a central point of contact for staff, patients, relatives, and partner agencies, offering a professional, compassionate, and confident service. Key responsibilities include processing referrals across health and social care systems, maintaining accurate electronic patient records, coordinating meetings, managing correspondence, supporting staff induction, and contributing to data collection, audit, and reporting requirements.

The role also involves supporting business continuity through flexible working, including providing cover across locations. The post holder will support service improvement initiatives and promote a positive image of the District Nursing Service at all times.

A commitment to confidentiality, effective communication, and continuous professional development is essential. The post holder will maintain high professional standards, participate in training and performance review processes, and contribute to the delivery of safe, high‑quality community nursing services.
