As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant at St Marys Hospital, you will be responsible for evaluating service users individual treatment plans, leading 1-1 and therapeutic group sessions, and analyzing clinical audit data. You will work under the supervision of a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, following department guidelines to support the work of SLTs, including planning and running therapy groups.

Your role will involve completing mealtime observations for patients with swallowing difficulties, supporting patients during community activities, and preparing personalized materials for therapeutic interventions. You will also demonstrate communication strategies to families using communication aids and provide clinical administrative support, including data collection and analysis. Experience in a care or therapy environment, effective communication skills, the ability to work with challenging behaviors, and computer literacy are essential.

Understanding of confidentiality and the impact of complex brain injury is important.
