We have an opportunity available for a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join the team within our Psychological Wellbeing Service based in Warrington, WA2 7JB
.
This is a training role within the NHS Talking Therapies programme which involves attending all taught sessions and completing the required self-study days as part of the programme delivered by the education provider. For the remainder of the week, you will work within the service applying and developing the knowledge and skills gained through training.
Salary: £28,392.00 per annum

Main duties of the jobIn this role you, you will play a key part in supporting individuals with common mental health problems by delivering evidence-based interventions and promoting recovery and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Adhering to service referral protocols to make a decision on the suitability of new referrals
- Assess and support people with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery.
- Undertake patient-centred assessments to identify areas where the person wishes to see change
- Provide a range of information and support for evidence-based, high-volume, low-intensity psychological treatments
- Produce clear, accurate and professional written correspondence to GPs, referrers and other professionals

- Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
- Assess and support people with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery.
- Undertake patient-centred assessments which identify areas where the person wishes tosee change and/or recovery, make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others, andmanage risk or escalate risk in line with service protocols.
- Make decisions on the suitability of new referrals, adhering to service referral protocols;refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary, or step the person up to high-intensity psychological therapy.
- Provide a range of information and support for evidence-based, high-volume, lowintensity psychological treatments. This may include guided self-help, computerised CBT, and information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, bytelephone or via other agreed media.
- Produce clear, accurate and professional written correspondence, including the ability towrite professional letters to GPs, referrers and other professionals, in line with serviceprotocols, confidentiality and clinical governance requirements.
- Educate and involve family members, carers and others in treatment as necessary and appropriate.
- Adhere to agreed activity requirements relating to the number of client contacts offered and clinical sessions carried out each week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
- Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate.
- Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service.
- Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols and use these records and clinical outcome data in clinical decision making.
- Work closely with other members of the team, ensuring appropriate step-up and stepdown arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
- Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process.
- Operate at all times from an inclusive values base which promotes recovery andrecognises and respects diversity.
- Attend and fulfil all requirements of the training element of the post, including practical,academic and practice-based assessments, and apply learning from the trainingprogramme in practice.
- Receive supervision from educational providers in relation to course work, and prepare and present clinical information for all patients on the caseload to clinical case management supervisors on an agreed and scheduled basis to support safe practice and clinical governance.
- Respond to and implement supervision suggestions in clinical practice, and engage inpersonal development supervision to improve competence and clinical practice.
- Ensure standards of practice are maintained according to the employer, the educationprovider, relevant regulating bodies and current national guidance, including guidancerelevant to common mental health problems and primary care services.
