2nd/3rd Line IT Support Engineer

A leading organisation is looking for a 2nd/3rd Line IT Support Engineer to join its established IT Service & Operations team based near North Warrington. Supporting around 5,000 users across multiple offices and hundreds of project sites throughout the UK and Ireland, you'll play a key role in delivering 2nd and 3rd line support while acting as a senior technical escalation point.

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Company Vehicle / Car Allowance

Location:

Newton-Le-Willows (5 days onsite)

• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support across the business, taking ownership of complex technical issues.
• Act as the senior escalation point for the Service Desk and mentor junior technicians.
• Support users across office locations and remote project sites.
• Mobilise new project sites, including IT equipment, connectivity and communications.
• Deliver infrastructure upgrades, deployments and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with Infrastructure, Cyber Security and third‑party suppliers to maintain secure, reliable IT services.
• Maintain technical documentation, asset records and follow ITIL best practices.

• Previous experience in a Senior 2nd/3rd Line Support role.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft technologies, hardware, software and networking.
• Experience supporting enterprise or multi‑site environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, Entra , Intune and Windows technologies.
• Exposure to networking technologies such as Meraki, Juniper or similar.
• Understanding of ITIL and IT security best practice.
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive, customer‑focused approach.
