This role is suited to someone who can work directly with stakeholders to translate business needs into trusted data solutions, ensuring data lineage, governance and stability over time.
Location and Working Pattern
UK-based role
Hybrid: 3 days in Warrington office, 2 days remote
Occasional UK and Ireland travel for workshops and project mobilisation
Client Overview
Our client delivers project controls and reporting support for major infrastructure and energy programmes. They focus on providing accurate insights for critical decision-making in complex environments.
Responsibilities
Derive reporting metrics by working backwards from the required decision to the source data
Extract and integrate data from multiple sources, including APIs, exports and structured manual inputs
Handle complex sources such as Excel, XML (including XER/P6), PDFs and scanned documents with careful validation
Develop and maintain a robust data model across raw, conformed and reporting layers
Build governance into every step, including reconciliation, lineage tracking and exception reporting
Design and operate the reporting and Azure data platform to production-level standards
Must-have Requirements
Proven track record in delivering reporting products from initial concept to go-live under tight deadlines
Experience with cost, schedule, risk, change and safety data within capital delivery projects (construction, infrastructure, energy, utilities, defence or nuclear)
Requirements-led data modelling, including dimensional modelling and layered warehouse design
Advanced SQL and Python skills
Professional-level experience using Azure Data Platform (Data Factory or Fabric, Synapse or SQL) and Power BI
Effective and credible in client-facing roles, including leading workshops and securing data access
Nice-to-have Skills
Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and its application in systems like CEMAR
Practical experience with Primavera P6, including XER/P6 XML parsing
Familiarity with Oracle Unifier, Aconex, Project Wise, Asite or similar CDE platforms
Understanding of earned value forecasting and tools such as dbt or equivalent transformation-as-code frameworks
