Estates Officer

Warrington & Halton Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a suitably experienced Estates Officer to join our estates department, based at Halton Hospital.
The post holder will work as part of the Estates team to deliver a comprehensive estates maintenance service, ensuring compliance with Trust standards, procedures, and legislation across the estate portfolio, working to agreed levels of quality, time and cost.
Main duties of the jobYou will operate and manage estates systems, acting as the supervisor for a team of directly employed estates maintenance staff and external specialist contractors, supporting the Senior estates Management Team.
Leading your team, you will manage the delivery of reactive and planned maintenance works to key plant and equipment assets, utilising CAFM and other specialist software systems.
Job responsibilitiesThe Estates Officer will be responsible for engineering and building fabric related activities including building maintenance, grounds maintenance, painting, project management, minor works, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as elements of statutory compliance in relation to estates management. The post holder will be supported by Senior Estates Officers and will advise and inform the Deputy Head of Estates on all technical matters and issues relating to engineering and building maintenance.
PersonSpecification Experience
- Experience in working within a building / engineering discipline or related industry
- Experience of working in hospital environment.
- An understanding of statutory and planned maintenance activities
- NVQ / City & Guilds / Currently studying a HNC, HND, Degree or higher
- OR relevant experience gained through employment within an NHS Estates Department
- Health & Safety Training
- Authorised Person in one or more estates disciplines
- Demonstrable knowledge of building and engineering systems
- Ability to use IT systems
