Cleaner, Commercial Cleaning

JDR Recruitment are recruiting for Cleaners to work at a nuclear plant in Birchwood WA3.

• Carry out cleaning duties in offices, controlled areas, restrooms, plant facilities, and other designated zones.
• Ensure all work complies with site‑specific nuclear safety protocols and procedures.
• Use approved cleaning agents and equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow radiation protection guidelines where applicable, including working in controlled or supervised areas.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals and waste materials in accordance with site regulations.
• Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Report hazards, incidents, or unusual findings immediately to supervisors.
• Complete cleaning records and documentation as required for compliance purposes.
• Support contamination control measures by following decontamination procedures when necessary.
• Adhere to strict security requirements, including access control procedures.

• Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and nuclear site safety rules.
• Participate in safety briefings, training, and drills.
• Understand and follow emergency procedures.
• Minimise risk of cross‑contamination in sensitive areas.
• Use PPE including gloves, protective clothing, masks, and dosimeters (if required).

Essential:

• Previous cleaning experience in industrial, commercial, or high‑security environments.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
• Ability to follow strict procedures and instructions.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• Experience working in high‑risk environments (e.g., nuclear, chemical, or pharmaceutical sites).
• Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
• Awareness of radiation safety practices.
• Security clearance (or willingness to undergo clearance).

• Must undergo background checks and security clearance.
• Compliance with all site security procedures is mandatory.

Pay Rate:

£12.71 per hour
