Permanent The Opportunity Kindsight Recruitment is supporting the appointment of an experienced Registered Manager for a childrens residential home supporting young people aged 718 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Great Barr . This is a leadership role requiring a confident, child-centred manager who can deliver therapeutic, trauma-informed care , ensure regulatory excellence, and build a stable, high-performing team. You will have full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the home, maintaining compliance with Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and working towards sustained Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes .

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operational Management Provide strong, child-centred leadership to the residential team Ensure full compliance with Childrens Homes Regulations (2015) and Quality Standards Develop and review the Statement of Purpose Maintain policies, procedures, and safeguarding culture Oversee health & safety and risk management within the home Create a positive, structured, and nurturing environment Support for Children with EBD Oversee admissions, assessments, and placement stability Lead on care planning, behaviour management strategies, and risk assessments Champion trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches Ensure childrens voices are heard and embedded into planning Support transition planning and preparation for independence Promote inclusion within the local community Safeguarding & Compliance Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Prepare and lead the home through Ofsted inspections Oversee Reg 44 and Reg 45 reporting Embed a strong safeguarding culture across the service Staff Management & Development Recruit, supervise, and develop staff Conduct supervisions and appraisals Ensure therapeutic and professional development pathways Lead continuous improvement planning Manage staffing cover and rota stability Financial & Administrative Oversight Manage budgets, staffing levels, and resources Ensure GDPR-compliant record keeping Report performance to senior leadership

Essential Criteria Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy within childrens residential care Proven experience working with EBD, trauma, and complex behaviours Strong knowledge of Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted framework Enhanced DBS & Full UK Driving Licence Ability to participate in on-call rota
