What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and develop the team: manage approximately 7 developers and technical specialists across Visual files/Everyfile and .NET.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, and support; conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development conversations.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high‑performing team culture; support career development and succession planning.
- Oversee delivery of development projects, system enhancements, and production support activities; prioritise workload across multiple concurrent work streams.
- Balance business‑as‑usual support with strategic project delivery; manage risks, issues, and delivery dependencies.
- Ensure solutions meet agreed quality, performance and security standards.
- Act as technical lead for Visual files/Everyfile solutions; guide solution design and development best practice.
- Support complex problem‑solving and technical decision making.
- Drive continuous improvement of tooling, processes and solution architecture.
- Lead release and deployment activities; enforce testing, governance, and change controls.
- Support the firm’s focus on automation, workflow optimisation and AI‑enabled solutions; identify opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance internal technology platforms.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across IT and the wider business; communicate delivery progress, timelines and risks.
- Manage relationships with third‑party vendors and development partners.
- Essential experience leading software development teams.
- Experience managing multiple competing priorities and work streams.
- Proven ability to balance project delivery with operational support activities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Desirable: strong experience working with Visual files/Everyfile.
- Desirable: exposure to or understanding of .NET / C# development.
- Desirable: experience in a legal, professional services or regulated environment.
- Desirable: experience with case or matter management systems.
- Desirable: experience driving process improvements, automation or team efficiency initiatives.
- Modern, flexible working – a minimum of 2 days each week required from the office, 3 days from home.
