Commercial leadership across major UK Water Frameworks

Adepto Technical Recruitment is working with a leading consultancy to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager to support the delivery of major UK Water Frameworks.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional with a strong Water or Construction background to take ownership of commercial performance across projects or portfolios, working closely with clients, project teams and internal stakeholders.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of allocated projects or portfolios, ensuring strong financial performance, effective governance and robust commercial risk management.

You will oversee budgets, cashflow, forecasting and margin, while providing confident leadership across contract administration, procurement, variations, claims and final accounts.

Working within a collaborative consultancy environment, you will also have the opportunity to influence client relationships, commercial processes and the development of wider commercial capability.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead commercial management across allocated projects or portfolios.

* Manage budgets, forecasts, cashflow, margin and commercial reporting.

* Identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks.

* Lead contract administration and commercial governance.

* Manage variations, compensation events, claims and final accounts.

* Develop and implement effective procurement strategies.

* Support dispute avoidance and resolution.

* Build strong working relationships with clients and project delivery teams.

* Provide commercial advice to project managers and senior stakeholders.

* Support and develop junior commercial team members.

* Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes and controls.

About You

You will be an experienced Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor with a strong understanding of commercial management within the Water or Construction sector.

You will ideally have:

* Significant experience in quantity surveying or commercial management.

* Strong NEC4 contract experience.

* Experience managing variations, claims, compensation events and final accounts.

* Strong commercial awareness across budgets, forecasting, cashflow and margin.

* Experience working on major infrastructure, construction or water programmes.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

* A relevant degree or equivalent commercial qualification.

* Professional membership or chartership is desirable.
