Panel Wireman

Warrington

£29,000 - £35,000 (dependent on experience)

A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit an experienced Panel Wireman to join their production team. The Panel Wireman will build and wire control panels, to a high quality and safety standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role of Panel Wireman

The Panel Wireman will be responsible for the wiring, assembly, and installation of electrical control panels, working from detailed electrical schematics and technical drawings. The Panel Wireman needs to have strong electrical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities of the Panel Wireman

Wiring and assembly of control panels
Control wiring from schematic diagrams and single line drawings
Installation of copper busbar and earth bars
Fitting and wiring of electrical components, devices, and panel doors
Building panels from 2D and 3D electrical drawings and CAD documentation
Ensuring all work is completed to required quality and safety standards
Safe use of hand and power tools, following H&S procedures

Requirements of the Panel Wireman

Level 3 Electrical qualification (Apprenticeship / City & Guilds / BTEC)
At least 2 years’ experience in control panel wiring or panel building
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and 2D and 3D drawings
Strong understanding of electrical wiring practices and standards
Experience installing busbar and earth bars
Good knowledge of health and safety requirements
Competent use of electrical hand and power tools and appropriate PPE
