Job Description & How to Apply Below
Are you someone who has the ability to build meaningful relationships with others? Have you thought about using that skill to make a real difference in someone's life? Our growth across Greater Manchester has been driven by our commitment to supporting people to move out of secure settings through our ‘Homes not Hospitals' approach. We are passionate about enabling people to live gloriously ordinary lives - in a place they call home, within their local community, and in ways that make sense to them.
To support our continued growth, we are looking for a self-motivated and values-driven Community Coordinator. You will use your outgoing personality and proactive approach to make new connections, engage potential candidates, and forge collaborative working relationships in order to provide opportunities for local people to join our teams across Greater Manchester. This role will be central to helping us find people who share our vision and values, who don't yet know they want to work for us, and may not be looking for jobs in the conventional places.
About the Role This is not a traditional recruitment role. We want to move beyond simply posting adverts and waiting for applications. We are looking to elevate our recruitment approach by building stronger local partnerships, creating meaningful community connections, involving our local teams, and helping people discover careers in social care in more personal and authentic ways. Using a community asset-based approach, you will build connections across local communities, develop relationships with partner organisations, and help attract people to careers in social care.
Working closely with operational teams, you'll create innovative recruitment and engagement activities that position Mac Intyre as an employer of choice. A Typical Week as a Community Coordinator Every week will be different, giving you the freedom to use your initiative and organisational skills to meet recruitment needs across the area. Activities might include:
Attending community, recruitment and networking events Delivering presentations and information sessions to potential candidates Planning, designing, and delivering Mac Intyre led community events Developing new and existing relationships with stakeholders Visits to people's homes across the area and the local North West Hub Administration tasks such as posting on social media, managing emails, writing reports, and planning for the weeks ahead We'd love someone who brings fresh ideas and creativity to help us connect with local communities in new ways.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) and will involve some flexibility to work across early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. You will need a driving licence and access to your own car as this field-based role will require regular travel around Greater Manchester. IND About you Recruitment experience is desirable but not essential. You may have experience in project management, business development, social care, retail, customer service or other community-facing roles.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, can think creatively about engaging local communities, and has a genuine desire to make a difference while sharing our values. If you're passionate about community engagement, relationship building, and helping people discover meaningful careers in social care, we'd love to hear from you.
About us Mac Intyre is a national charity which supports over 1,200 people with a learning disability and/or autism. We were founded in 1966 by the visionary parent of a child with disabilities and have been growing steadily ever since. We celebrate and develop everyone's unique gifts, talents and contributions. Training and Development At Macintyre we fully support your training and development.
We know it can be daunting to start a new job, and not everyone learns the same way, so throughout your probation we will provide you with a mixture of eLearning, face-to-face training and mentoring support whilst on the job. But it doesn't stop there - throughout your career with us you will have access to our own dedicated…
