Empowering recovery, leading by example, and ensuring staff supervision to deliver superior healthcare are key duties. You'll coordinate the on‑call service, manage ward budgets, and act as a role model to nursing team members. Additional responsibilities include providing clinical leadership, ensuring high standards, and maintaining a collaborative environment. The role requires a relevant nursing qualification, NMC registration, and leadership experience in similar settings.

What you will be doing:

With experience from the NHS or private care, you will support the Ward Manager to lead the nursing team in providing high‑quality care and support to adult women in a medium and low secure psychiatric intensive care (PICU) environment, who have personality disorder and mental health conditions, while also supporting your colleagues and promoting good teamwork.

As a Charge Nurse, you will empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff across the ward to deliver great healthcare. You will work alongside the senior Nurse and Ward Manager to co‑ordinate the on‑call service and manage the ward budgets, and lead by example, acting as a role model to all members of the nursing team, leading care teams and creating a positive learning environment that makes a difference and changes lives for the better.

Other duties include:

  • Providing clinical leadership and expertise
  • Providing leadership and guidance to support a unified service and engaged workforce
  • Ensuring that high standards are in place, followed and improved in accordance with the Clinical Governance framework
  • Utilising and supervising all nursing staff effectively
  • Being an expert resource on nursing care of service users within the specialism and holding a key role in the multidisciplinary team
  • Maintaining a positive and collaborative environment to allow ward members to reach their potential and maximise their ability to provide high‑quality care, staff welfare and staff training
  • Designated to take charge of the ward in the Ward Manager’s absence

Join the multidisciplinary team at Arbury Court and provide care and treatment for adult women in medium and low secure and psychiatric intensive care (PICU) environments, who have personality disorder and mental health conditions.

Rehabilitation and recovery at Arbury Court focus on care being person‑centred rather than disease‑centred.

The service is located just off the M62 junction 9 in Winwick, which benefits from good transport links, making it easy to commute from most local areas between Liverpool and Manchester.
