Trade Plus Operative Plumber (Permanent)

Hours:

40 hours per week + out of hours callout rota. Salary: £31,934.16 per annum (plus van, fuel card, uniform & tools provided).

Based at Gadbrook Park, Northwich. The role will be out working across the stock of Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s core locations:
Warrington and Cheshire.

The Opportunity

Weaver Vale Housing Trust has an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career with a great company. We are looking for a driven, diligent, and friendly Trade Plus Operative, with a plumbing qualification who also has experience of cross‑trade working, to join our Property Team. We have over 6,500 properties, which are maintained using in‑house trade teams, and are therefore seeking an experienced tradesperson with a multi‑discipline background.

The successful candidate will work full time, on a permanent basis, across our Property Services team.

What Will You Do?

As a Trade Operative at Weaver Vale Housing Trust, you will carry out a range of planned, cyclical, void and responsive repair works. It would be an advantage to be competent in all aspects of building maintenance with a recognised qualification in plumbing. You will be expected to work safely, following specific guidelines, assessing risk, and maintaining the completion of ongoing health and safety training.

The role will see you carrying out a range of repairs and maintenance tasks inclusive of all aspects of plumbing, tiling, wet‑room installations work on tenanted and empty homes. This exciting role will provide opportunities to work within the full range of Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s stock, helping transform homes and services to improve the quality of life for our customers.

The working week will consist of 40 hours, and these hours will be worked between 08:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. In addition, you will be required to participate in the Trust call‑out rota and work within a 30‑mile radius of Gadbrook Point, Northwich.

Minimum Requirements For This Role
  • Completed a recognised trade apprenticeship to City and Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification standard (recognised qualification in plumbing).
  • Working in a domestic or commercial environment for building works.
  • Ability to complete a variety of trades to a high standard including, but not limited to, plumbing, joinery, tiling.
  • Able to reliably commute or relocate to work across the stock of Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s core locations:
    Warrington and Cheshire.
  • Willingness to undertake further qualifications in areas such as health and safety and general management.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.

This role will require the successful candidate to undergo a DBS check.
