About this job

We're excited to support our well-established social housing client to recruit experienced Income Recovery Officers to join their team on a minimum 6-month contract, with the potential to extend.

This is a hybrid role, working 2 days from the office.

If you've worked in Income Recovery/Maximisation and have a strong understanding of rent recovery processes, housing legislation and best practice, this could be a great opportunity.

Experience using QL is advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Manage your own caseload of customer accounts to maximise income and minimise arrears
  • Liaise with customers via telephone, email or face to face to discuss support and bring accounts back up to date
  • Implement early interventions and complete affordability & expenditure assessments to agree affordable repayment plans
  • Prepare pre-court documentation and initiate legal proceedings where enforcement is warranted
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure a joined‑up approach to income recovery and tenancy sustainment
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date customer case notes on the housing management system
What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience in an income recovery/maximisation role within social housing, and a good understanding of relevant legislation and best practice
  • Experience of completing income & expenditure forms and the ability to offer basic welfare and housing benefit advice
  • Good IT skills, ideally having used the QL housing management system
  • Confident lone worker who can work to own initiative but communicate effectively with a wider team
What you'll get in return
  • Weekly pay
  • Competitive hourly rates
  • Option to be paid PAYE or Umbrella
  • Hybrid working
  • Min 6 month contract
