The Crisis and Resilience Fund plays a vital role in supporting vulnerable residents during times of crisis, helping to prevent escalation and promoting stability and wellbeing.

The role

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our CRF team. In this role, you will work directly with residents experiencing financial hardship or crisis, assessing need and coordinating appropriate support.

You will:

  • Assess applications and referrals in line with CRF criteria and council policies
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to residents in a sensitive and professional manner
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure a joined-up approach
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with data protection requirements
  • Contribute to service improvements and support the delivery of key objectives

What’s needed?

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working in a customer-focused or support-based role (e.g. benefits, welfare, housing, or similar)
  • Has strong communication skills and can engage effectively with a wide range of people
  • Is able to assess complex situations and make sound decisions
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Has good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Is confident using IT systems and maintaining accurate records

Knowledge of welfare benefits, financial support schemes, or crisis intervention work would be advantageous, but not essential.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
