PHP Developer

We’re working with a growing, technology‑led business that operates a high‑traffic, customer‑facing digital platform at the core of its operations.

Following the recent hire of a Lead Developer, they’re continuing to build out their in‑house engineering team and are now looking for a Mid‑Level Software Engineer to support the next phase of platform growth and modernisation.

You’ll be working on a high‑volume application platform primarily built in Laravel, contributing to new feature development, platform improvements, APIs, integrations, and ongoing modernisation work.

This is a hands‑on engineering role where you’ll work closely with the Technical Lead and wider team to improve scalability, reliability, and overall platform quality.

• Developing features across a Laravel-based platform
• Working on APIs, integrations, and backend services
• Supporting improvements to performance, scalability, and reliability
• Collaborating with the Technical Lead, external developers, and stakeholders
• Contributing to code quality improvements and platform modernisation
• Troubleshooting issues and supporting production stability

• Commercial experience with PHP, Laravel, and MySQL
• Experience building APIs and backend systems
• Understanding of modern development practices
• Exposure to AWS or cloud‑hosted environments
• A proactive mindset and willingness to improve systems
