AboutThe Role
We’re looking for a SCADA Systems Engineer to design and deliver high‑quality supervisory control and visualisation systems for complex industrial applications.
In this role you will design, develop and commission SCADA/HMI solutions, covering operator interfaces, data visualisation, alarm management and system integration.
You will work across the full project lifecycle—from design through to commissioning—playing a key role in delivering intuitive, reliable, data‑driven SCADA and HMI platforms.
Why This Role?- Own the operator interface and visualisation layer of safety‑critical systems
- Work on projects where data visibility and usability directly impact operational performance and safety
- Develop expertise across leading SCADA/HMI platforms and architectures
- Be involved end‑to‑end—from design through to live commissioning
- Clear progression path to Senior Engineer with increasing technical responsibility
- Design and develop SCADA systems, including system architecture (client‑server / distributed systems) and communications (OPC UA/DA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
- Develop high‑quality HMI interfaces with intuitive screen design, navigation, process visualisation and consistent UI/UX standards
- Configure and manage alarm systems (prioritisation, rationalisation, diagnostics)
- Integrate SCADA/HMI platforms such as Rockwell Factory Talk, Schneider Citect, Siemens WinCC and AVEVA/Wonderware
- Collaborate with control system engineers to integrate PLC data into SCADA systems
- Configure and integrate systems, conduct Factory Acceptance Testing, Customer Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning
- Produce high‑quality technical documentation (design specs, test docs, user manuals)
- Degree/HND in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience developing SCADA/HMI systems in industrial environments
- Experience with one or more SCADA platforms (e.g. Factory Talk, Citect, WinCC, Wonderware/AVEVA)
- Understanding of industrial communications (OPC, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
- Experience with alarm handling, diagnostics and system monitoring
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Hybrid working (typically 2–3 days per week in the office, depending on project needs)
- Flexible working hours to support work‑life balance
- UK expensed travel required at key project stages (e.g. testing and commissioning)
- Competitive salary and benefits package
- Free single medical cover and digital GP service for UK employees
- Family‑friendly benefits such as enhanced parental leave pay and free membership of employee assistance and parental programmes
- Reimbursement towards relevant professional development and memberships
- Work‑life balance and flexibility with hybrid, part‑time and flexible working options
