We are seeking a dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our logistics team. This role involves operating heavy goods vehicles, specifically tractor-trailers, to transport freight across various locations while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial driving, including route driving, load & unload operations. As a HGV Class 1 Driver tramper, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the efficiency of our supply chain operations.

Duties

* Operate heavy-duty tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, ensuring adherence to traffic laws and safety regulations.

* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking mechanical components and safety equipment.

* Manage documentation related to deliveries, including bills of lading, delivery notes, and route logs.

* Maintain communication with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit.

* Perform yard jockey duties when repositioning vehicles within the yard or warehouse facilities.

* Support warehouse operations by assisting with inventory movement and ensuring accurate load placement.

* Comply with all company policies regarding hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols.

Requirements

* Ideally experience as a HGV Class 1 Driver tramper, particularly with tractor-trailers or heavy goods vehicles.

* Valid HGV Class 1 license with a clean driving record.

* Knowledge of manual transmission operation and heavy equipment handling.

* Familiarity with freight handling equipment such as forklift trucks, pallet jacks, and dump trucks.

* Strong understanding of route planning, load securing, and delivery procedures.

* Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot common issues.

* Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with dispatch and warehouse teams.

* Ability to work independently in a demanding environment with minimal supervision.
