Our client, a nationwide market leader within their sector, with offices across several countries, is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder to join their team on a permanent basis.

Duties of a Freight Forwarder

Coordinating international and domestic shipments
Managing freight movements by air, sea and road
Liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth processes are being followed
Preparing and processing all relevant shipping and customs documentation.
Ensuring shipments comply with current import, export and customs regulations.
Obtaining freight quotations and providing customers with competitive pricing.
Resolving any issues or delays that may arise
Arranging collections, deliveries and onward transportation.
Managing customs clearance procedures and working closely with relevant departments
Raising invoices and ensuring all relevant charges are accurately recorded.
Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Experience of the successful Freight Forwarder

Previous experience within freight forwarding is essential.
Experience in managing EU cross-trade shipments.
Experience working with customers across the UK and EU.
Knowledge and experience of handling ADR goods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and use initiative
