Maintenance Mechanic

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Understand workplace hazards to keep self and others safe.
• Take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace.
• Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations.
• Learn, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all machinery throughout the plant.
• Maintain and repair plumbing and electrical components throughout the plant.
• Support the Company's Core Values.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, BOM's and associated procedures
• Ability to follow directions
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks
• Possess a mechanical aptitude
• Ability to identify and communicate process improvements
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Proven reliability - attendance and punctuality

Minimum Education and Experience

Required:

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years' experience with facility maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

• Two years' experience with 460-volt electrical equipment and systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands and fingers to grasp/pinch and manipulate objects.
• Frequent use of vibrating/pneumatic tools, overhead and outstretched reaching with arms.
• Bending/twisting/stooping, kneeling/squatting.
• Frequently lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs. throughout the day and occasionally up to 40 lbs. as needed.
• Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling of over 40 lbs. requires a team lift or mechanical assistance.
• May occasionally be exposed to dust, and spray fumes and noise
• Regular shop assembly/distribution center environment (no air conditioning)
• Steel-toed shoes are required for working in this position
