Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant

• Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial information and address tax-related questions.
• Perform account reconciliations and assist with general ledger maintenance and financial statement preparation.
• Support senior accountants and managers during audit engagements as needed.

Qualifications of the Staff Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting, with exposure to both tax preparation and general accounting, preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and current tax regulations.
• Proficiency with accounting and tax preparation software (e.g., Quick Books, CCH Pro System, Ultra Tax).
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and client communication skills.
• CPA or actively working toward CPA certification is a significant plus.
